BOSTON, MA, UNITED STATES, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Volition Capital, a Boston-based growth equity investment firm, today announced the final closing of Volition Capital Fund VI, L.P. (“Fund VI”) at its hard cap of $950 million in limited partner capital commitments. Fund VI was oversubscribed, reflecting strong demand from both its existing and new limited partners. Fund VI is the largest fund raised by Volition to date, bringing its total assets under management to over $2.6 billion.

With Fund VI, Volition will continue its established strategy of investing in founder-owned technology companies that have demonstrated strong customer demand and achieved meaningful growth with limited institutional capital. The firm has a long track record of leading growth investments in capital-efficient B2B software, internet, and consumer companies. Founders keep ownership and control of their companies, while Volition takes a board seat and provides support, resources, and guidance throughout the partnership.

Founded in 2010, Volition has invested in more than 60 companies. Its current portfolio includes Black Kite, ButterflyMX, Creatio, Levanta, and US Mobile. Notable firm exits to date include Assent Compliance, Chewy, Connatix, and Rounds.

“Since our founding in 2010, Volition has focused on investing in and supporting capital-efficient founders who are building high-growth, disruptive technology companies,” said Sean Cantwell, Managing Partner at Volition Capital. “We continue that same focus with Fund VI, where the impact and adoption of AI is leading to extraordinary growth opportunities across all areas of Volition’s investment focus.”

Volition has paired a disciplined focus on small-cap growth equity with a diverse expertise in business models and sectors. Volition’s portfolio companies have ranged from consumer e-commerce to security software, compliance infrastructure to mobile apps, and from vertical B2B applications to the creator economy. The collective experience of helping to scale such a broad range of businesses is a competitive advantage as the world of AI is changing the entire technology landscape and disrupting longstanding business models.

“Every industry in the world, every function in the enterprise, every consumer application, every services sector, and every hardware category is being reinvented with AI,” said Larry Cheng, Managing Partner. “We are excited to launch Fund VI into the world of AI which is driving unprecedented innovation and growth across the entire economy. We have backed founders with aspirations for greatness, and we believe truly remarkable businesses are being built today in the new era of AI.”

Despite the disruptive change across the technology world, the values of Volition remain the same. Volition exists to have a transformative impact on the lives of its founders, the trajectories of its portfolio companies, and the missions of its limited partners. The firm does this by working with each portfolio company as if it were a portfolio of one, bringing to bear its core approach of both maximizing the return potential and mitigating the risk profile of each of its companies. Volition will launch Fund VI with this same philosophy that it was founded on.

“Our mission to help founders achieve their dreams without risking them hasn’t changed,” said Roger Hurwitz, Managing Partner. “That north star has guided us through every market and technology cycle, and we believe it will continue setting us apart. We're grateful to all of our portfolio companies and LPs for their continued partnership and trust.”
